Easton... Meet Your Mommy and Daddy!

It is with great joy that after a year and a half and through all kinds of obstacles we were finally able to hold our son Easton in our arms!

It was such a long road and at times it felt like this day would never get here but it has all been worth it. I just want to say that for all those who have been by our side through this process thank you. We couldn't have done it without you.

I'm sorry that I have not updated the last few days but we were having trouble connecting to the internet while in Beijing. We did a lot of sightseeing and eating while we were there and flew to Xi'an Sunday. We met on guide for Easton's province (Sherry) and went from the airport to our hotel for a brief stop and then it was straight to the Center for Child Welfare to pick him up. It all happened really fast but he was so good. He came right to us and immediately sat in our laps. To say it was love at first sight wouldn't do the feeling justice. We spent a little over an hour there with him and the nannies from his orphanage and then headed back to the hotel. He did great and although he had a brief episode when he realized his nannies weren't staying he soon got over that when we gave him all the food we could!

Today we spend about 3 hours filling out paperwork and getting fingerprinted and making the adoption final. In the eyes of the Chinese government we are now officially his parents which is a big step towards getting him home. Today we have been hanging out at the hotel playing and getting to know each other. We can't really understand each other yet but he loves to be held by his mom and playing ball with his dad.

We are going to try and take it easy and spend some time sightseeing here tomorrow. Its a huge city with a lot of history. We will try to update the blog again tomorrow or the next day if all goes well. Until next time!
